Treatment

Stop gum disease before it costs you your teeth.

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults — and it's almost always silent in the early stages.

Gum Disease

Our periodontal (gum) care programme is designed to halt and stabilise gum disease at every stage, from mild gingivitis through to advanced periodontitis.

Detailed gum charting, targeted deep cleaning and a tailored maintenance plan protect both your natural teeth and any restorations or implants.

Highlights
  • Specialist periodontal assessment
  • Detailed gum charting & pocket measurements
  • Non-surgical deep cleaning (root surface debridement)
  • Personalised home-care plan
  • Maintenance recalls to prevent relapse
  • Protects implants, crowns and bridges

Warning Signs of Gum Disease

Book a gum assessment as soon as you notice any of these signs — early treatment is far simpler and more successful.

  • Bleeding when brushing or flossing
  • Red, swollen or tender gums
  • Persistent bad breath
  • Gum recession or longer-looking teeth
  • Loose or drifting teeth
  • Pus around the gum line

Our Treatment Approach

Treatment starts with detailed measurements of gum pocket depths and bleeding, followed by gentle deep cleaning under and around the gum line to remove the bacteria driving the disease.

Most patients then move onto a tailored maintenance programme so the gums stay stable for life.

Frequently asked

Your questions answered.

Is gum disease reversible?

Early gingivitis is fully reversible. More advanced periodontitis can be stabilised — we can't regrow lost bone, but we can stop further damage.

Does treatment hurt?

We use local anaesthetic where needed so deep cleaning is comfortable. Some sensitivity afterwards is normal and short-lived.

How often will I be seen?

Most periodontal patients are reviewed every 3 months until stable, then move to standard hygiene recalls.
