Treatment

Protect your smile with professional hygiene care.

Healthy gums and good oral hygiene are the foundation of a healthy, confident smile.

Dental Hygiene

Our dental hygiene services are designed to prevent gum disease, keep your teeth bright, and support the long-term health of every restoration in your mouth.

Each appointment is tailored to your needs — from a relaxed maintenance polish to more in-depth periodontal care for patients managing gum disease.

Highlights
  • Remove plaque and tartar
  • Prevent gum disease
  • Reduce staining
  • Improve oral health
  • Freshen breath
  • Maintain healthy teeth and gums

Professional Scale & Polish

A scale and polish removes hardened tartar and surface stains that simply can't be brushed away at home. Our hygienists work gently around each tooth using ultrasonic and hand instruments, finishing with a smooth polish that leaves your teeth visibly cleaner and your mouth feeling fresh.

Most patients benefit from a hygiene visit every six months; high-risk patients may be recalled more frequently.

Gum Health Treatment

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults — and it's almost always silent in the early stages. We carry out detailed gum charting at each visit, monitor pocket depths and bleeding, and create a stage-by-stage plan to stabilise your gums.

Watch out for these signs and book a hygiene assessment if you notice any of them:

  • Bleeding when brushing or flossing
  • Swollen, red or tender gums
  • Persistent bad breath
  • Gum recession or longer-looking teeth
  • Tooth sensitivity to cold
  • Loose or drifting teeth

Airflow Stain Removal

Airflow uses a controlled jet of fine powder, warm water and air to lift staining from tea, coffee, red wine and smoking without touching the tooth with metal instruments.

It's comfortable, fast, safe around veneers, crowns and implants, and the results are visible the moment you look in the mirror.

At-Home Care Plan

We finish every appointment with a tailored at-home routine — the right brush, the right interdental size, and simple technique demos so you leave knowing exactly how to look after your smile between visits.

Frequently asked

Your questions answered.

Does a scale and polish hurt?

It shouldn't. We work gently, and if your gums are sensitive we can use topical numbing gel for added comfort.

How often should I see the hygienist?

Every six months for most patients, more often if you are being monitored for gum disease.

Will Airflow whiten my teeth?

Airflow removes surface staining so teeth look brighter, but it doesn't change the underlying tooth shade. For that, see our whitening page.
